All the space you need is a garage, basement, space under your bed, or just a backyard. A shed will help make this a year long operation if your weather is not 55 - 85 degrees all year long. You need small dark bins for storage, some soil, shredded newspapers, and food scrapes. We have listed many resources below that will give you the exact details you need to get started. You will need a catchiny name for your worm farm to get folks attention. Farms have names. Go Green with Worms Artificial fertilizers add mostly nitrogen, phosphorous, and potash to the soil. Top soil is not produced because the soil is too acidic to support life. Living organism such as worms create topsoil. Check out your soil. Chances are you will not find a single worm. Or very few. If a worm cannot live in the soil, the soil is also not good enough to support a lawn, plants, or garden crops. This is where you come in.
