Honeydo Handyman

Al: Didn't you study the manual at all?
Tim: A real man doesn't need a manual.

handyman tools

Make money as an entrepreneur working at home as a handyman, mobile locksmith, mobile mechanic, or a home inspector.  Remove graffit all over town.

Handyman/Handywoman/Handyperson

This is a great job for women.  There is much to know, but without the heavy lifting of construction work.

On the other hand, many women say that they could surely use another husband to help around the house.  This means they need more help as there are just too many chores for one person to handle.  The handyman fills in and gets all those little anoying chores done in no time flat.  You might want to consider a handyman franchise.

Be certain that you are legal.  Get the permits and certifications that you need.  Know the local building codes.  Then get started.  For small jobs you probably will not need a permit, but always check first.

Potential customers and customers get really upset if you do not return phone calls or show up when you promise.  So be very professional even for small jobs.  Keep your cell phone turned on and with you at all times. Always return phone calls promptly.

Make certain that you have the appropriate insurance to cover you while you work.

Here is a list of a few of the chores a handyman might be asked to perform:

Change locks, light bulbs, fixtures, or faucets
Light concrete projects
Interior or exterior painting
Drywall repairs
Bicycle repairs
Gutter cleaning
Haul trash
Power washing
Deck repairs
Water plants
Wash windows
Pack, move, and unpack for home, business, college, or apartment
Fence installation and repairs
Ceiling fans
Drywall installation
Plumbing
Chimney sweep
Garage doors
Brick work
Tree services

Home Inspector

Take all the courses that you need to get certified to inspect houses.  This is especiallhy important before a house sells.  The buyer wants to know what needs to be repaired.  However, your services will be needed by all homeowners.  Homes should be inspected periodically so that a problem is caught before it becomes a problem.

Graffiti Remover

Sell your services to the city, the county, business owners, or others who have had their building tagged.  Get your name out there so that folks know whom to call when the need arises.

Sell Handyman Gift Sets

A perfect gift for any handyman is a new tool box. This also doubles nicely as a gift box.  Fill it full of unusual items.  Surprise him/her.  Tools are the expected gift.  Fill it with energy bars, homemade snacks, a tie with tools on it, soap, hand cream, gift cards, and other items.

Mobile Mechanic

Your customers will appreciate your small repair car service most especailly if you come to their driveways. Get your certifications.  Start small and then add more and more services as your business and expertise grows. You might begin by offering such services as:

Windshield repair
Tire rotation and fix flats
Replace brake pads
Tint windshields
Change oil
Check fluid levels
Winterize
Replace headlights
Replace and charge batteries
Replace wipers

Mobile Locksmith

People get locked out of homes and cars and need the services of a mobile locksmith to get them back in.  You will be needed to install and change locks on doors in homes and apartments.  You need to have the equipment to copy keys.
