Trash-to-Treasure Transformer

One person's junk is another person's treasure.

Make money working from turning trash into treasures.

Transform Trash

You've seen the TV shows so you know how it works: taking items that appear to be trash and then turning them into magnificent treasures!  Once you have created wonderful treasures, don't under price them. Make something really useful or funky.  Create your own special niche.  Leave your mark in this most creative of all endeavors.

Check out these ideas:

1. Turn an old sink into a planter or ice bucket.
2. Use an old-type wringer washing machine as a plant stand or to place food on as part of an outdoor buffet.
3. Hang chandeliers and colorful glass bottles from trees as wind chimes or sun catchers.
4. Set up an old iron frame bed.  Hang a sign on it that says “Flower Bed”.  Fill it with potted plants.  Using a raised bed for gardening also makes it easier for the elderly to be able to enjoy gardening as well.
5. Use the head and foot board of an iron bed as a trellis.
6. Create mosaic table tops with broken china pieces.
7. Design scarecrows from discarded clothes.
8. Stack alternating saucers and teacups to make a garden statue.  Mix in some bottles.  Bring this in during extreme weather as it will not withstand really cold weather.
9. Create art work from bike parts, computer parts, gears of all kinds, and hardware.
10. Set a bowling ball into a tight fitting bowl for a flat surface so it does not roll away.  Paint animal or people faces.  Make a snowman.  Line up several bowling balls to create a caterpillar.  Use wire for legs and the antenna.  Glue all kinds of marbles, jewelry parts, or other objects on it to create garden art.
11. Fireplace inserts make great plant stands.  Paint the insert with vibrant colors using rust proof paints.
12. Create wall hangings or pictures using old computer parts.

You can even ask neighbors if they have any old items they no longer want that you can take off their hands.

Garage Sale Scavenger

For those who love a bargin, garage sales are so very hard to resist.  After awhile, where are you going to put all those good bargins?  Open a shop and sell them.  Refinish them and repair them.  Sometimes folks just get so busy they do not have time to make the repairs and just as soon toss the pretty nice pieces rather than deal with the work involved.  Hand out your card at garage sales and offer to come back and haul away all the stuff that is left over for free.
